Christ For Us is defined by its very name. Christ is not a superstar which we merely adore and try to serve enough in order to gain His favor and be like Him. He does not desire sacrifice; instead, He desires mercy. He desires mercy for you. Salvation occurred for you over 2,000 years ago on the cross with Christ crucified taking the world's sins upon Himself. This gift of salvation is free, but it is not cheap. It was bought with a great price: the very suffering and death of God incarnate. In Christ, God's righteousness is freely given to you in God's preached word and sacramental word. As many of you who have been baptized into Christ have been clothed in Christ. He who believes and is baptized will be saved. And this salvation for you, this Christ for you and for me, is the eternal God who planned our salvation before the foundation of the world.
